<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Radiofrequency (RF) lesioning is a precise and established destructive technique in functional neurosurgery for treating chronic pain, movement disorders, and other conditions. This paper reviews its history, technical evolution, and key applications such as trigeminal gangliolysis, cordotomy, and deep brain lesioning. Despite being irreversible and less commonly practiced today due to the rise of neuromodulation, RF lesioning offers significant advantages like predictability, minimal invasiveness, and cost-effectiveness, making it a valuable option for specific patients, particularly in oncology pain care.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>радиочастотная деструкция</kwd><kwd>функциональная нейрохирургия</kwd><kwd>боль</kwd><kwd>эпилепсия</kwd><kwd>тремор</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>radiofrequency lesioning</kwd><kwd>functional neurosurgery</kwd><kwd>pain</kwd><kwd>epilepsy</kwd><kwd>tremor</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Mullan S, Hekmatpanah J, Dobben G, Beckman F.
